Mental Health Topics and Resources
Mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and eating disorders, are common among adolescents. 1 in 5 live with a mental health condition—half develop the condition by age 14 and three quarters by age 24.
It can be scary and confusing to experience the first signs of a mental illness. It can help to talk to someone about how you are feeling. Talking to a trusted adult can help you find answers, feel supported, and not feel so alone.
There is help for teens experiencing mental health conditions. Although we don’t totally understand how mental illnesses begin, we do know many treatments that are effective. You can live a fulfilling life with a mental health condition, and you have the power to seek help and take the steps necessary to improve your mental help.
