Skiing is a fun, adrenaline inducing sport which takes a few years to master. Loved by most, it is a popular winter sport and recreational activity involving sliding on snow using two long runners (skis) attached to boots, evolving from ancient transport to modern Alpine (downhill) and Nordic (cross-country) styles. The history of skiing traces all the way back to ancient times, with rock paintings and sets of skis preserved in bogs dating back to the period between 8000 - 6000 BC. The first community believed to have skied were the ancestors of the Sami, the only indigenous people to Scandinavia. People ski for a mix of adrenaline-fueled thrill, physical exercise, and mental rejuvenation in nature. It offers a sense of freedom, accomplishment, and joy, often described as flying, while providing a full-body workout and a social, scenic escape from daily life. So, if you have the chance, GO SKIING!Â
