Have students watch videos featuring the core word "stop" Model how to find and select the word on their devices or communication boards while watching the videos. If this is easy, make it more challenging! Model sentences like "It stop" or "Stop here/there." This is also a great opportunity to review the core word "Go" with your child! Feel free to pause the video and watch as many times as you would like.

Stop Following Directions Song.
Choose one activity to complete 5 minutes each day. Focus on modeling the word "stop" during this time. Review these ideas for an activity to try that you think your child would find fun.
Playing with cars or other vehicles.
Wind-up Toys.
Listening to music/ dancing.
Mini trampolines.
Playing “Red Light, Green Light”.
Stirring while cooking.
Any type of toy that spins, moves, or lights up.
Swinging.
Playing with a fan.
Stirring while cooking.
Scooter or bike rides.
Brushing teeth.
“Stop” is also a way to appropriately refuse or protest. You can model ‘stop’ for your child during a naturally occurring opportunity, such as when your child protests something you’re doing (e.g., playing music s/he doesn’t like or trying to dance with your child).
