Have students watch videos featuring the core word "want" Model how to find and select the word on their devices or communication boards while watching the videos. If this is easy, make it more challenging! Model sentences like "I want in" or "want more". Feel free to pause the video and watch as many times as you would like.

Do you want to build a snowman
Choose one activity to complete 5 minutes each day. Focus on modeling the word "want" during this time. Review these ideas for an activity to try that you think your child would find fun. For example, hold all the puzzle pieces and model what each one is before giving it to your child (e.g. "want", “want more”) to put into the puzzle.
Snack time choosing between favorites
Crafts choosing between different:
-Colors
- Parts
- Shapes
-Movement and Actions
-Swings, scooter boards, slides, etc.
- Ball: roll, bounce, catch, throw, etc.
- Fast versus slow movement
Toys for making a preferred choice between similar items:
- Play food
- Animals
- Transportation: cars, trains, etc.
- Dolls and clothes
- Different colored blocks
- Puzzle pieces
- Wind-up toys
- Musical instruments
