Hello Shelton View families! My name is Jamie Tuttle, and I am excited to be serving as the long-term substitute for Mrs. Redd while she is on maternity leave. I feel fortunate to join such a wonderful community and to work with your amazing 2nd graders this year.
A little about me: I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Washington and earned my master’s in teaching from Northwest University. Last year, I had the opportunity to do a long-term substitute position in 3rd grade at Westhill Elementary, which was a wonderful experience and prepared me well for this role.
On the personal side, I’ve been married to my husband Ken for 20 years (this April!) and we have three children: Samantha, a junior at Bothell High School; Joseph, a freshman; and Kaitlin, who just finished her time at Shelton View (and was lucky enough to have Mrs. Redd in 2nd grade!) and is starting at Canyon Park Middle School.
Outside of school, I love traveling, camping, and spending time with my family. We’ve visited 19 national parks so far—this year’s adventures took us to Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon. I also enjoy art and exploring creative projects whenever I can.
I look forward to a wonderful year of learning, growth, and fun with your children. Please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m excited to partner with you to make this a great experience for our 2nd graders!
