School begins daily at 9:25am.
Students may arrive no earlier than 9:10am.
Students can participate in morning recess from 9:10-9:25am, leaving their backpack at our back wall and heading to the playgrounf right by our room.
Each student has a set number to line up at on our back wall, when the 9:25 bell rings, I will greet students and invite them in and begin our day together.
*Our back wall is located on the backside of the 20-wing, room 23.
We have two snacks a day, one in the morning and one in the late afternoon! Please make sure your child sets snack aside for these times and does not eat them along with their lunch.
Students are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle daily to keep at their desk. They may refill their water during lunch and snack times!
We will always celebrate students in class!
NSD has shared that food items may no longer be brought in for birthday celebrations.
NSD does require parents to have a level 1 background (no cost) completed to enter the classroom to drop off birthday items.
If you would like to send in goodie bags (not required), please make sure there is one for student. 25 total
Please communicate with your teacher ahead of time if you plan to send anything in.
Party invitations are welcome if all students are invited. Otherwise, invitations cannot be passed out at school.
If your child's birthday lands on a weekend or in the summer, your teacher will reach out with a set day we will celebrate in class!
All students will have the opportunity to be a star for a week! Mrs. Redd will notfiy famillies in advance when their child's week is approaching and send home the "ALL ABOUT" poster the Friday before their star week.
Monday- Bring your poster back in to present to the class. (Mrs. Redd will assist)
Tuesday- Bring in one item for a class show and share.
Wednesday- Bring in one picture book to be read during snack time. (Please so not send in chapter books or comics)
Thursday- Classmates will complete a book for the star!
Friday- Share about a hobby or interest in class. Students may bring in an item to help explain. For example:
If a student like drawing, they can bring in a picture they've drawn.
If a student enjoys playing the piano, a short video clip can be sent to Mrs. Redd and played in class.
If a student enjoys playing baseball, they can bring in a baseball or their jersey.
If your child will be absent due to a vacation, please let Mrs. Redd know in advance so adjustments can be made to our Star Schedule. If your child is unwell during their week and absent for multiple days, we will make up their week at a later date.
All school devices will remain at school during the week. Student chargers and computers will be kept safe in a charging cart at school.
