Student & Staff Spotlight

This week we interviewed the Dean of Students, Mr. Thompson.

Mike Thompson is a 1995 alumni of Lima Central Catholic . Mr. Thompson has worked at Lima Central Catholic Highschool for 13 years teaching a variety of STEM classes. Thompson has been Dean of Students for 5 years and has reprimanded many. Mike Thompson and Barb Schmiedebusch co-deaned for years, Schmiedebusch retired in Spring of 2022 and Mr. Thompson is now full-time dean.

Question 1: What is the most common thing you catch people for?

"The most common issue is a minor issue, untucked shirts and being tardy. When you get 5 tardies it results in a detention."

Question 2: What is the worst thing people get caught for?

"The worst thing people having been getting caught for is vaping. There have been some other issues of people sending messages they shouldn't have on their iPads. But vaping is probably the biggest issue."
