Early/Middle College (EMC) Program allows high school students to earn dual high school and college credits and well-defined pathways toward earning a postsecondary degree or credential in addition to a high school diploma. Early/Middle College Programs are partnerships between State-Approved Alternative Programs (SAAP) and eligible postsecondary institutions designed to serve and support students in the academic middle especially low-income, English Language Learners, first-generation college students, and/or students of color.
STEP 1 - Meet with a school counselor to determine if you're eligible to begin EMC
STEP 2 - Apply to the Early/Middle College (EMC) program on the institution's website. Your counselor can support you with this step.
STEP 3 - Complete section 1 of the Early/Middle College Notice of Student Registration Form and then send it to your counselor.
What will happen next: Your counselor will notify the EMC institution of your application and send them a copy of your transcript. You will then be scheduled into the EMC Student Skills for Success course. Your counselor will talk with you about transportation options and long term course planning.
This form needs to be filled out by any eligible OALC scholar who is interested in participating in the Early/Middle College Program. Please talk with your counselor if you are interested in learning more.
