The Minnesota Career Information System (MCIS) is an Internet-based system that combines a wealth of career, educational, and labor market information into one comprehensive, easy-to-use exploration tool. With MCIS, students can:
Learn about over 520 occupations
Develop a personal portfolio and personal learning plan
Research colleges, universities, and career schools
Find scholarships and financial aid
Improve job search skills and create a resume

Many students struggle with deciding on a college major or career pathway. This is often a result of a lack of information and minimal research. A good starting point while exploring possible college majors and/or career options is by completing an Interest Assessment. The MnCareers Interest Inventory, for example, is a comprehensive assessment you can try before beginning your college and career exploration and planning.

The Keirsey Temperament Sorter is designed to identify various kinds of personality temperaments. The results will give you a four-letter personality indicator, as well as an explanation of what each indicator means.
The Occupational Information Network OnLine, developed for the US Department of Labor, allows users to explore careers, jobs, and occupations.
The Green Light is a website where you can search colleges, find the perfect match, and learn your chances of admission.
The Transferable Skills Survey was developed by the University of Minnesota. It asks you to rate 62 items from 0 to 3 in several skill set categories and then uses this information to provide a percentage ranking of your skills from these categories.
