Field Trips

List of Field Trips and Known Dates:

October 2, 2019 - Big River Journey - because of the limited space on the boat we may not be able to bring any parents - I am very sorry.)

Big River Journey riverboat field trips run between Harriet Island (St. Paul) and Fort Snelling State Park. Trips are designed for 5th grade students, and feature staffed learning stations with hands-on activities on the following topics (subject to change):

• Aquatic insects & water quality
• River geology
• River ecosystems
• River birds
• Watershed stewardship
• Riverboats & piloting
• Archaeology*
• Floodplain forest*
• Soldier hike*
• Cultural confluence hike*

*These are done at Fort Snelling State Park

November 15 - JA Biztown - Chaperones needed! An unlimited amount of chaperones can attend and needed for this event.

February - Date to be determined Skateville Night - for all 5th grade students in celebration of their leadership as patrols and kindergarten helpers. Parents are welcome to meet us at Skateville.
