While vaping mainly affects the lungs and is most commonly associated with lung damage, the effects of vaping spread across multiple body systems:

Pulmonary System

Heavy metals can build up in the blood and cause organ damage. Breathing in the vapors can cause asthma, coughing, pneumonia, lung cancer, etc.

Nervous System

Early nicotine use (adolescence) can harm parts of the brain that can affect attention, memory, concentration, learning, and mood, among other things.

Integumentary System

There have been cases of batteries exploding in the faces and hands of users, causing burns, scarring, and permanent damage to their skin.


Cardiovascular System:

Many chemicals found in vapes can lead to hypertension, worsened arterial stiffness, function of blood vessels, and select heart diseases.
