College or Scholarship Essay Assignment
Choose an essay you will most likely need to write your senior year for admission into a school or program or for a scholarship. Don't waste your time--try really hard to find one that you will use next year! This might require a little research. Here are some ideas (but you are not limited to these):
One from Mrs. Hammer's Teacher Site
A scholarship from your parent's place of work
Your college/university's application essay
An honors program essay
A scholarship website or app (like Scholly)
BGSU Choice Scholarship (will be available once you are accepted to BGSU):
Why did you apply to BGSU?
What is the biggest influence in your college decision?
What makes BGSU stand out from other institutions you are considering?
A Paulding County Area Foundation scholarship essay
The AEA book scholarship (write an essay to an 8th grader about what you wish you would've known before you started high school)
The Franklin B. Walter All-Scholarship Award
For good students with great attendance
2021-2022 essay prompt: In 500 words or less, write an essay/personal statement discussing your short-term and long-term goals, both academically or professional and personal.
Megawatt Scholarship (STEM students)
Antwerp Rotary (Four Way Test)
Mrs. Bagley's List from Awards Ceremony
Use the article and rubric below to help you write your essay using the document distributed through Classroom.
After Mrs. Bagley grades your essay, make sure you save it so you can easily make revisions and submit it next year.
If more useful, you can write a cover letter for a resume rather than an essay.
