Welcome to our second big unit!  Our big focuses are: Greek and Latin roots, central idea, supporting details, and creating summaries.  Students will be exposed to a variety of Greek and Latin roots and work on determining the meaning of unknown words using that knowledge.  For central idea, we use multiple strategies in order to determine it (see below).  Being able to identify the central idea and supporting details leads us to our main end goal, whch is creating and identifying effective summaries.
