Hi I'm Will! My work explores the relationship between healing, identity, and belonging through creative expression. As a Veteran and current graduate student in Clinical Psychology on the Spiritual Depth Psychology track, I came to Antioch carrying experiences of service, trauma, and recovery that often exist outside traditional academic spaces. Art has become a bridge between these worlds, allowing me to integrate my lived experience with my role as a student, clinician-in-training, and community member.
The pieces I am submitting reflect my personal journey of transformation through practices such as yoga, surf therapy, sound healing, and plant medicine. They are rooted in storytelling and symbolism, using imagery and process to represent resilience, grief, and renewal. For me, making art is both an act of self-regulation and a way of creating meaning from experiences that are difficult to put into words.
In the context of student belonging, this work represents my process of finding a place within an academic community that values diverse paths to knowledge. Antioch has allowed me to show up not only as a student, but as a whole person: a Veteran, healer, and artist. These pieces are an offering to that community, reflecting how belonging can be cultivated through creativity, vulnerability, and shared human experience.
