Spring Project Overview: Interest Investigations
This spring, students will embark on an exciting journey of self-directed learning through our Interest Investigations project. They will become masters of a topic they have always been curious about but never had the time or reason to explore deeply. Whether it's a hobby, a skill, or a subject they're passionate about, students will take the lead in researching their chosen interest through various resources like articles, videos, and even people in their everyday lives. For example, a student interested in sewing might learn from a grandmother who is a sewing expert!
On March 6th, at our Spring Showcase, students will present their findings and final products, demonstrating how they mastered their topic. Each student will create a trifold board to showcase their research process and include a final product that reflects their learning journey. This project encourages independent research, critical thinking, and creativity, and we can't wait to see the amazing results!
Examples of Projects:
A student might explore cooking and create their own recipe doing a small cooking demonstration video to showcase.
Another might delve into photography and showcase a collection of their best photos, explaining the techniques they learned.
Some students may even choose to learn a musical instrument or craft, showcasing their progress and skills.
This project is designed to spark curiosity and foster lifelong learning, and we’re excited to see the growth and creativity of each student!
