Our district uses Infinite Campus as a student information system that tracks grades, attendance, behavior, and many other data points. The district has set the following goal for the high school level:
By September 2017, 100% of staff will have aligned their work with academic standards for the course as measured by standards/skills-referenced organization in course grade books. By September 2017, 100% of staff will have aligned their work with academic standards for the course as measured by standards/skills-referenced organization in course grade books.
Our PLC decided to use this year to experiment with aligning our grade books to this goal. You can see elsewhere on this site how we utilize Google Forms. We have adapted this Form, our Wind Rubric, and our Percussion Rubric into the current constraints put on us by Infinite Campus. It is our understanding that there is both a standards-based version of Campus as well as a planned integration with Google Classroom. We currently do not have access to either of these features. This page is meant to show how we are able to make standards-referenced grading work within our constraints.
From the Google Form, Wind Rubric, and Percussion Rubric, we pulled the following Categories and Assignments:
Each assignment has an inactive (formative) 6 Week, 12 Week, and 18 Week iteration. The assignments in Categories 2-11 also have an active (summative) Overall iteration. Teachers will use their discretion and information from the 6-, 12-, and 18-Week assignments for the Overall assignment. Here are some screenshots from Infinite Campus:
