Coaches will be asked to fill similar roles during the Final Round. An impartial reader will be supplied.
The four teams with the highest number of points from the four preliminary rounds will compete in the final oral round.
Each team will have one light/sound buzzer.
Up to two questions per book will be read in the 30 minutes allowed.
Once the question is read, up to 10 seconds will be allowed for teams to discuss the question with each other. The first team to “buzz/light-in” and then be recognized after the question is read may answer the question. The team must answer the question within two seconds of being recognized. Any team member may buzz in for the team.
If their answer is correct, they will be awarded 10 points.
If their answer is incorrect, the remaining teams have up to 5 seconds to “light-in” and answer the question. If they are correct, they earn 5 points. If the second answer is incorrect, a new question will be read.
If a team lights-in before the end of the question has been read, reading of the question will be stopped, and the team must answer the question. If they answer the question correctly, 10 points will be awarded. If they answer incorrectly, 5 points will be deducted from their score. The question will then be read to completion, and any of the other three teams may light-in and answer the question. If they are correct, 10 points will be awarded. If they are incorrect, a new question will be asked.
Total scores from this round will determine the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place teams.
In the event of a tie, the ranking from the online battle will be factored to determine placing.
