Two online tests will be administered to each competing team: an author test and a multiple choice test over the content of each book. The testing window will be open for a period of approximately two weeks (see timeline page for details).
Each test will be taken by the team as a unit around one computer. Only team members included on the coach's survey may participate.
No notes, books, online resources will be allowed.
Team members are encouraged to talk with each other prior to answering a question, but one person should type the answers OR the team may elect to rotate whoever answers based on the knowledge they have of the books read.
Each test must be completed once it is started
A team may elect to complete one of the tests on one time, and the second test at another date and/or time.
A team may not start a test and then finish later.
No team member is allowed to leave the testing area until the test is completed. (No trips to the restroom or elsewhere are permitted.)
The coach or teacher librarian must log in to Classmarker and set up the test for the students; said coach/TL should actively monitor the group the entire duration of their test.
The top team from each school will automatically proceed to the Grand Battle. The remaining teams will qualify for Grand Battle, regardless of school affiliation.
In case of a tie, the authors test score will act as the tie breaker. In case of a tie on that score, the fastest time of both completed online tests will serve as the tie breaker.
