Procedures for Medical Emergencies

*Vidaah Vet Chat is only to be used for non business hours for Medical Emergencies from 6pm-10am CT

EFFECTIVE FEB 7th, 2025

1. Log into http://app.vidaah.vet/auth/registration?foster=IyORfiH4HzTJq4AGKp7Po3OThm03

2. Please enter the login and password information you created at the time you picked up your foster pet (if you have not created a profile please create one)

3. Begin the chat with the Vidaah Vet

4. The Vet will provide you with information on how to handle the situation you are chatting about

5. If you have been advised to seek emergency care for your foster pet you will need to immediately proceed to one of the following hospitals for care 

   • Veterinary Emergency Group Oak Brook: 1735 W 22nd St, Oak Brook, IL 60523

   • Veterinary Emergency Group South Loop: 1114 S Clinton St Unit B & C, Chicago, IL 60607

   • Veterinary Emergency Group Lincoln Park: 755 W North Ave, Chicago, IL 60610

     • Please do not proceed to any veterinary clinic unless the Vidaah Vet service classifies this issue as an emergency and advises you to seek immediate medical care. Without this direction and authorization you will be responsible for any charges you incur during an unauthorized vet visit.

6. If the Vet services deems the issue critical vs. an emergency, please follow the medical advice given then call the shelter at 10am (708)848-8155 for next steps. Please also email the foster team at foster@animalcareleague.org

7. Emergencies and Medical Concerns during the hours of 10am-6pm should be reported to the shelter at (708)848-8155. 

   • Please do not proceed to any veterinary clinic unless the Animal Care League team classifies this issue as an emergency and advises you to seek immediate medical care. Without this direction and authorization you will be responsible for any charges you incur during an unauthorized vet visit.
