One of the biggest problems when delivering packages and letters is unkempt roads, which could have cracks, potholes, debris, exposed rebar, and uneven road surfaces. When a road is unkempt bad accidents could happen leading people to getting hurt. About nine million packages are lost and/or damaged every year due to this problem, according to shipandsure.com, and because of potholes about 33,000 car crashes happen each year according to pothole.info.
Problem Statement: Unkempt roads can keep important packages from people who need them, such as medicine, food, or emergency supplies. When trucks skid, swerve, or crash, packages fall or are damaged. It affects people who order, or need to get packages. This could happen during any season because of heat, natural disasters, snow, and more. During winter if there are potholes in the road, the water from the snow could melt and turn into ice, causing accidents. The roads could be cracked, snow-covered, have debris, or something else.

Unkempt roads can keep packages from arriving to anyone. They cause half the fatal road incidents a year. Many larger trucks are susceptible to these, because they have a harder time making sure there is nothing in the road since they are larger and can’t see what's happening to all the places in the truck. Potholes, roads wearing down, or obstacles can cause structural damage to the vehicle or cause damage to cargo.
Connection to Team: Our problem related to the team because we all have had to drive somewhere and we get held up because of construction. Guess what the construction was for... the road. And we all get packages, so the trucks that deliver them could also be held up by this problem.
