This week I went to Chinatown in Bangkok (Yaowarat) on a food tour sponsored by my study abroad program. It was a really busy area packed with tons of food, people, and bright lights. Even though there are more than 30 people in my program, only three of us showed up. So the tour felt very personal. In fact, there were more guides than actual tourists in the group. In addition, the tour guides were very honest with us, like whether or not they have actually eaten these dishes and what they like to eat normally.
I also explored new food options near my apartment and visited the horses on the school campus. This week the rain was so persistent that most of the days the street I lived on flooded! This made it really difficult to leave the area haha. I also went to a downtown Bangkok mall for the first time (central world). It was pretty beautiful but I did not spend a dime since everything was so expensive. To be honest I don't really see the appeal of going to these kinds of malls consistently. After, we went to Platinum, which is a huge building with tons of cheap knockoffs. I got a few souvenirs for my friends there. For dinner, we decided to go back to the all you can eat hotpot place (TeeNoy) again since my friend ate their yesterday with a bad date. After diner, we walked around the nearby university, Chulalongkorn University.

Feeding carrots to this horse. It surprised me when it went for the bite.
My school on a really rainy day. They have the open roof to water the plants using the rain!
Types of limes I had to research for a homework assignment

Satay chicken with toast
Coconut smoothie
Some desert, the top one had pandan leaf jelly. The bottom I forgot the name but it had a crunchy and simultaneously squishy texture
Guay Jap. Probably the most famous dish in Bangkok Chinatown. The signature is in the pepper based broth and the type of noodles (the triangle)
Landmark in Bangkok, it used to have a swing attached to it a long time ago
A government building with the full name of Bangkok. It actually is the longest name for a capital in the world
