Welcome to 7th Grade Math!

Hello! This 2025-26 school year is my eleventh year at Southwood Academy and my thirteenth year teaching, overall. I teach 7th grade general math.

Originally, I am from Florence, SC, but grew up in Lexington, SC. While in high school, I performed in three of the school choirs and musical theatre. I also took 4 years of voice lessons. Once it was time for college, I completed my Bachelors of Science (Mathematics Education) at North Greenville University in 2013, completed my Master's of Education (Educational Technology and Online Instruction) from Liberty University in 2017 and completed my Doctorate in Education (Educational Leadership) from Liberty University in 2022.  I believe that education is is vital to our society. I love teaching and finding ways to expand the experience of the math classroom. Southwood is an amazing school to teach at and I am excited for new year with you!

When I am not teaching, I enjoy adventures with my three beautiful children, John Harrison (9), JoyeAnna (6) and Jane-Maecyn (3) and my partner, Ryan! Our favorite things are watching movies, dancing in the living room, playing outside, or finding a good snack to enjoy!
