VirtualSC is a free state-sponsored online program serving students currently attending public, private and home schools in grades 6-12 and Adult Education Programs. VirtualSC offers free rigorous online courses aligned to state standards that are developed and taught by Highly Qualified, SC licensed teachers. VirtualSC partners with schools to provide a free individualized online learning solution for students on the path to high school graduation.
Courses are available 24/7 to fit the needs of students with active lifestyles.
Credit recovery courses are available to earn credit for courses failed.
Free test preparation options are available for AP, SAT, and, ACT exams.
Students are able to take courses to graduate early or complete their Adult Education program.
Courses are free-of-charge to any South Carolina student sponsored by a public, private, or homeschool.
The student must secure approval to take a specific course from the public school or district. This includes permission from the school principal or his or her designee to take VirtualSC courses.
The student must have access to a computer and must have Internet access in order to take the virtual education program courses.

Apex Learning is the Online Learning Instruction currently in use at Pendleton High School. Apexs provides digital curriculum designed to actively engage students in learning. The APEX digital curriculum supports all students in achieving their potential, from those struggling with grade-level content to those capable of accelerating their learning. Our blended learning model combines embedded supports and scaffolds to meet diverse student needs, actionable data to inform instruction, and success management to ensure our students get the outcomes they are expecting. Digital curriculum enables Pendleton High School to provide flexible, student- centered scheduling options, and to personalize students’ learning experiences.
Students participating in blended learning environments receive direct instruction from the digital curriculum in addition to support from a highly qualified, certified teacher. The blended learning environment may not be suitable for all students. Apex Learning courses are scheduled into students' school day as one of the classes they attend.
