Provincial Master's Message
Dear Sisters and Brothers, Fraters and Sorores;
In the last issue of this newsletter I elaborated on the hidden nature of actuality and how we assume that our reality, the way we perceive and interpret the world, is all that there is - is the entire truth about our universe. Now I wish to talk about the necessity of being aware that there is a difference between actuality and reality.
We can, perhaps, think of the difference between actuality and reality as being akin to the difference between truth and opinion. We all have our opinions about life – politics, religion, the kind of foods we eat, people we associate with, the movies we see, what brands to buy, etc. I hope we can be aware that other people have opinions different than yours. That means that our opinions may, or may not, be correct, may not be based on truth.
If we are wise, and can think in terms of the “bigger picture”, we have to be aware that our opinions and our reality, the way we interpret and experience the world, are only ours and may be based on limited information. If we cling to these interpretations tenaciously and deny the possibility of any other explanations, we are frozen – we are denying the possibility of expanding our concept of our world – we are denying intellectual (and spiritual) evolution. If we want to continue our pursuit of truth, if we want to continue on our path of spiritual evolution, then we must always remain open to new ideas, new concepts, new ways of interpreting the world and the universe.
And so, Sisters and brothers, Fraters and Sorores, I ask you to always remain open to new ideas. Our motto should always be that of the Rosicrucian Order – be a walking question mark. There is so much that our science, philosophy, religion, sociology, etc., don’t yet understand and we can’t rely on the currently accepted explanations to fully define our life and or works. We must look beyond conventional wisdom and keep expanding our concepts. We must always be open to the idea that “there is so much more!”
May you ever dwell in the Eternal Light of Divine Wisdom!
