The Communication University of China (CUC) is one of the China’s key universities of “Project 211”, directly administered by the Ministry of Education. CUC developed from what used to be a training center for technicians of the Central Broadcasting Bureau that was founded in 1954. In April 1959, CUC was upgraded to the Beijing Broadcasting Institute (BBI) approved by the State Council. In August 2004, BBI was renamed Communication University of China. CUC is located in the eastern part of Beijing near the ancient canal, which occupies 463,700 square meters of land and a total of 499,800 square meters of buildings.
The motto of the CUC is “integrity, professionalism, erudition and competence.” CUC upholds its ideology of offering courses that are centered on scientific based learning by emphasizing the application of a course and relevance to the particular discipline. As a result, an inter-relating and inter-influencing discipline system that covers journalism and communication, film & television arts, information science & technology, literature, engineering, management, economics, and law and science has been formed. University of Kerala
One of the first 16 Universities in India, the University of Kerala was founded in 1937. Formerly called the University of Travancore in the former princely state of Travancore (now southern part of Kerala and some neighbouring parts of state of Tamilnadu), the University came into being by a promulgation of the Maharajah of Travancore, Sri Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma who was also the first Chancellor of the University. Sir C. P Ramaswamy Ayyar, the then Diwan (Prime minister) of the State was the first Vice-Chancellor The University was modelled after the best Universities of the United Kingdom, and even today retains some of these features.
At present, the University has 16 faculties and 44 departments of teaching and research, in addition to study centers and other departments. The total number of full-time students in the University Departments is above 2000 including research students, along with a modest number of foreign students. The University has over 180 affiliated colleges. There are 110 Arts and Science colleges, 7 Law colleges, 1 Engineering Colleges, 9 MBA, 4 MCA Colleges, 48 Teacher Training Colleges, 3 hotel management, 2 Fine Arts Colleges, 1 Music College and a fashion technology institute. The total number of students in these colleges crosses 95,000.

The Department of Communication and Journalism, University of Kerala, was established in 1976, under the headship of Prof. Maxwell Fernandez. It was the result of a long cherished dream to start a teaching department for Communication and Media studies in the oldest university of the state.
At present, the Department is offering a two-year Master’s Degree Program in Communication and Journalism (MCJ) and Ph.D. Program in Journalism. A well-equipped media lab with a preview theater and editing suite provides the students with an opportunity to experience audio-visual production at par with industrial standards. The fully digitized department library is a treasure house of books (more than 7000) and journals that offers seamless opportunities of reference and research.
