Event 1 - Informational Meeting
Location: Exeter Council Chambers
Date: March 3, 2026 at 6:00 PM
Informational Meeting will be held at the Exeter Council Chambers. City staff will share an overview of the CHANGE 65 campaign, the Route 65 active transportation improvements being considered, and how the ATP Cycle 8 application process works. Attendees will have the opportunity to complete a short survey and provide input on specific locations of concern, priority crossings, sidewalk and bicycle connectivity gaps, and the types of improvements they want to see. Community feedback collected at this meeting will be used to refine the project priorities and strengthen the City’s application for funding.
Event 2 - Walk Audit
Location: Kaweah Avenue (State Route 65)
Date: April 16, 2026 at 10:00 AM
The City will lead a guided walk through the project area so community members can share real-time feedback on where walking and bicycling feel uncomfortable or unsafe, including crossing locations, sidewalk gaps, accessibility barriers, driveway conflicts, lighting needs, and connections to schools, parks, downtown, and transit stops. City staff and engineers will be on site to answer questions, discuss potential improvement options, and document observations. Input gathered during the walk audit will help confirm priority locations and inform the design concepts included in the City’s ATP Cycle 8 application.
Event 3 - Pilot Study
Location: Kaweah Avenue (State Route 65)
Date: April 23, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
The City will install temporary, quick-build improvements to demonstrate how targeted changes can improve safety, comfort, and accessibility for people walking and bicycling along the corridor. This pilot will allow the community to experience the concept in real time and provide feedback on what works well, what needs adjustment, and where additional improvements are needed. Lessons learned from the pilot study will be documented and used to refine the proposed permanent improvements and strengthen the City’s ATP Cycle 8 application.
