The purpose of the Change 65 campaign is to improve safety and access for people walking, biking, and rolling along and across SR-65 in the City of Exeter by developing and advancing a set of actionable Active Transportation improvements. Through community-driven engagement and data-informed planning, the project will identify, assess, and vet viable solutions that reduce conflicts, close gaps in the pedestrian and bicycle network, and make it easier to reach schools, parks, downtown destinations, and key services without needing a car.
The City of Exeter is pursuing California’s Active Transportation Program (ATP) Cycle 8 grant funds to support project development and construction.
The location was prioritized through collision data and community input included in the City of Exeter Complete Streets with ADA Compliance and Active Transportation Safety Enhancement Plan.
