How to connect your device to AISD WiFi
How to connect your device to AISD WiFi
Our AISD WiFi network requires authentication upon connection.
What you'll need:
Your Active Directory (aka "district computer") login username and password
Device permissions to Trust our Security Certificate
When you change your AD password you will need to change the password on all devices connected to AISD WiFi. If you don't, AD will lock your account every time your device tries to connect to AISD WiFi.
This is a short reference guide on how to manually set up a wireless profile on iOS devices. This profile will allow your device to connect to AISD WiFi.
Navigate to Settings > WiFi on your device and connect to AISD WiFi
Username - "Your District Computer Username"
Password - "Your District Computer Password"
Click Join
Ensure it says "aisd-nps.ad.alvaradoisd.net" and is issued by Sectigo.
Select "Trust".
After a few seconds, AISD WiFi should show "Connected."
Toggle WiFi off and then back on again.
You are now connected to the AISD WiFi network. You should not have to reenter your login credentials again until your Active Directory (district computer) login password expires, typically 6 months. After it expires make sure to change the password on the device so AD does not lock your account.
NOTE: Starting with iOS 16, using the Safari web browser may require going back into the iOS settings of the BYOD WiFi network and disabling "Private Wi-Fi Address" for websites to load properly. This is a great feature to use on public WiFi networks like hotels and coffee shops but causes issues on our school district's protected network.
Note: As you come and go, day to day, or moving between district buildings, you may need quickly toggle WiFi off and back on in order to force a reauthorization and stable connection to the BYOD network.
NOTE: Downloading a special certificate is no longer needed. The security certificate we now use is already part of a trusted chain inside your Android phone's operating system.
