Students will pick a person in U.S. History that has passed away to research. On Monday, November 24, we will hold the wax museum where the students can dress as their person and present their report. This is going to be a fun and exciting project. Parents and family members will be able to walk though the wax museum and learn about all the amazing individuals of U.S. History.
WAX MUSEUM will be held in Cherry Hill's Gym: Monday, November 24. You and your family members can go through the Wax Museum at any of the following times: 9:30 - 11:30 AM or 12:30 - 1:30 PM.
At school - Students will pick a person and start their research. Students will write a 5 paragraph paper and present all the information they have discovered on their chosen individual. They will write a script to practice for the day of the Wax Museum presentations. They will then perform for the different classes, parents and family members that are able to attend the Wax Museum.
At home - Students will need to make a tri-fold board about their person. Students will have the opportunity to be creative with this project. Student can draw pictures, write, use construction paper or computer generated visual aids to present their information on the tri-fold board. The trifold board will need the following: Name of the Person, Early Life, Contributions to the U.S., Later Life, Interesting facts and a Picture of the Person. The most important thing is to make the project their own and have fun with it. Student will also need a costume so that they can emulate their chosen individual.
Here are some ideas of individuals that students can choose from for their report. It is not an inclusive list, so if another idea occurs to you; you could add it to your list to be approved. Look for at least 3 individuals. You will be filling out a form: HERE with your 3 choices. There will not be multiples of the same individuals. We want all students to have the opportunity to learn about new individuals from U.S. History.
