Just like last week, you have 2 writing assignments this week. They are due this Friday, April 17. You can work on them anytime that's convenient for you. You have 2 different options to submit your work. You can either upload a picture of your written work and send it to me in the form below or in an email, OR type your response on a form you can access below. I would prefer the written work over the typed, if possible.

#2 - Look at this poster for ideas on how to write the first sentence of your opinion.

#3 - Look at this poster for ideas on how to begin writing your last sentence that restates your opinion.

Assignment #1 Opinion Writing

This week's assignment has the same instructions as last week, but the text you will be writing about is different. You will need to write your opinion about this question, "Which makes a better treat: cupcakes or ice cream?" First, read the text about cupcakes and ice cream. Next, decide which one you think makes a better treat. Then, find two reasons from the text that you agree with, that shows why the one you chose is better. Finally, write your opinion (which is better), include at least 2 reasons from the text, and restate your opinion. Make sure you write in complete sentences and include capitals and punctuation marks. PLEASE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS. I want to give the best grades I can, but I can't give you the best grade if you don;t follow instructions.

Pick ONE of the journal prompts below. Write about the question for 10 minutes. If you get stuck, think about these questions: who, what, where, when and why.

If you could be any age, what age would you be AND why?
What are your favorite things to do outside?
