1. On a separate sheet of paper. Copy the images to the right (Please don't print and cut out. We would like you to draw them.)
2. Cut out each image and fold along the lines to make a 3d shape.
3. If you know the name of the shape, please name it on a separate sheet of paper. If not, just describe what the shape looks like. Save your 3d shapes to bring to class.
4. Based on what you learned from making the shapes. Do your best to complete Go Math pg. 417.
Go over HW
Teacher guided reference p. 415-416
1. As a class, draw a net of the box on pg. 419 (below).
2. Look at the dimensions on the original box discuss as a class how to label your net so it matches the box to the right.
3. Use the net to find the surface area of the whole box.
4. If you need another example, use one of the problems on pg. 421
*Another alternative would be to bring in a box (or several), such as a cereal box or any cardboard box. You can break it down to make a net, and/or you can measure each face and add to get the surface area.
