1. Can I keep up with classes even if my Japanese is not very good?
Yes! A Japanese proficiency of JLPT N4 or above is recommended, but classes are divided by language level so that everyone can follow along. Professors and staff provide various kinds of support to help you succeed.
2. How much does it cost to live in Japan?
Living costs vary, but on average, students spend about 80,000–120,000 yen per month for rent, food, and daily expenses. In addition, our university provides a 50,000 yen scholarship for exchange students, allowing you to focus on your studies and enjoy your life in Japan.
3. Can I work part-time, and if so, how many hours am I allowed to work?
Yes. International students can work part-time after receiving permission. During the semester, you can usually work up to 28 hours per week.
4. Is there support to help me get used to life and culture in Japan?
Yes. We offer orientation programs and student events to help you learn about Japanese life and culture. Each international student is also paired with a buddy student who will provide personal support and guidance.
5. Where can I go for help if I get sick or injured?
You can visit the university health center or nearby hospitals. If needed, the International Center can assist you. Staff and Resident Assistants (RAs) can guide you and provide support for any medical care you may need.
6. Can you tell me how to get from the airport to the university (or student residence)?
Yes. We provide detailed instructions and support for reaching your residence smoothly. We also offer a pickup service from JR Hiroshima Station to make your arrival easy and stress-free.
