We will be working on the ground up construction of two new buildings and restroom facilities (WaSH) for the Dudhauli Healthpost. This will add healthcare capacity to a remote area that is starting to experience population growth. Some of the services and facilities we’re looking to increase at the healthpost include reproductive healthcare, x ray/ultrasound services, a lab for sample analysis, and admin/pharmaceutical services. We continue to look for and connect with other NGOs who have expertise in these areas to guide our program planning.
The construction work on site includes site clearance, minor excavation work, debris removal, material transportation, rebar bending, foundation digging, mixing mortar and concrete, building forms for concrete pours and finishing touches like painting and trip work. The start of program may include some project ramp up works, and the end of program will include some project ramp down activities.
Take a look at our Practical Guide to learn more about COVID-19 preventative measures at the worksite.
A typical workday will start around 6:00 AM. Once you are awake and full of breakfast, you will head to the worksite around 7:30 AM where you’ll stay until around 4:00 PM. Once back on base, you’ll have a nightly meeting around 5:00 PM and have dinner and some free time before curfew around 9:00 PM.
