On this week’s Livestream PD, our Special Education TOSAs, Lisa Larison & Michelle Lynch, will be addressing your Special Education questions. This session is for both Special Education staff and General Education teachers. We will begin by answering any previously sent-in questions, then follow-up with any new questions sent in during the broadcast.

This week’s Live Stream will cover the 5 social emotional learning skills and provide you with practical strategies that you can implement in your classroom. You will learn that it can be done easily and your efforts will pay off.
During today's Livestream, Dr. Esteban Hernandez will review updates and procedures with teachers related to the following aspects of ELPAC and SBAC: the purpose of each assessment, areas measured, students/grades tested, & procedures for administration for both in-person & remote.
In an effort to continue building community across the district during these trying times, we will be taking time to pause, reflect, & share stories about how the past year has impacted us all. See how one teacher has increased student stamina and participation during their remote Eureka lessons by narrowly focusing on the learning target, making judicious choices about what to do synchronously and asynchronously, and by increasing engagement.
This training review modules one and two of the Teacher Clarity Playbook by Fisher, Frey, Amador and Assof. These modules focus on analyzing the standards to determine what students need to know, and sequencing learning such that it is logical for students to master those standards.

Teacher Connect is an easier way to connect with our parents. The District recently purchased an app that will allow for easy messaging to all our parents. This session will familiarize teachers with the app's use.

In today’s LivestreamPD, we delved deeper into one of our main tools, Screencastify. We briefly reviewed how to use Screencastify for recording video. Additionally, we extended our learning to include an introduction to video editing & publishing on Screencastify.

In this broadcast, we will explore how to get started with In Sync, Great Minds’ new platform. Among other things, In Sync provides video Math lessons with fillable PDFs for your students. Kim will show you what it provides for educators and what it looks like to students. You will also get acquainted with the new look of Affirm, which is now an integral part of In Sync.

The EdTech Department shared some potential pitfalls we have already seen since the opening of the school year. Today, we are Reviewing, Refreshing, and Reintroducing some of the common settings, concerns, and questions that have been trending when we are helping teachers get underway in this most unusual of school years.

In this presentation, Ana shared successful practices, as well as challenges, observed during implementation of Guided Reading with a DRA 28 level group of students in a Remote Instruction setting. Video clips of the demonstration lesson are included throughout the session.

After the opening, Kim walked us through a demonstration math lesson she taught in a 1st grade Spanish bilingual classroom. Kim shared key insights after her demo lesson, including what worked, what could have worked better, and what didn’t work. A variety of digital and analog tools were discussed.

Following the opening, we explored options for record keeping in our two main district platforms: Google Classroom & Seesaw for Schools. We used advanced features to maintain a record of student work, mastery, and data.
We learned how to use Google Classroom’s grade book and Seesaw For School’s folders, skills, and standards to stay organized and prepare for the upcoming year.
Today's Livestream PD began with a few short videos thanking teachers for all the work they do, in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week.
The main portion of today's PD was centered on how to get started with Jamboard, Google's interactive whiteboard. We included a live demonstration with our amazing EdTech Liaisons, an overview of the interface, and some ideas/resource/templates to get you started using Jamboard!

In the Main Channel, during the short opening, we reviewed the new features and procedures of Google Meet including the Google Classroom integration. We also gave some sample norms, in both English and Spanish, for students in Google Meet.
The Main portion of our PD, was getting teachers going with Flipgrid. Flipgrid is a simple way for students and teachers to create online discussions. It allows teachers to create "grids" to facilitate video discussions. Students LOVE it, and since it uses video-based discussions it’s accessible to all levels of language and literacy ability.

Today was a live Q & A session. There was also some guidance about Sample lesson plans and schedules. We talked about beta test and teaching/living in beta, clarifications on IT, Google Meet, and Google Voice.

In this broadcast we will reflect on some considerations when lesson planning for Remote Instruction: the importance of communication and collaboration, tech tools recommended by our EdTech dept., providing a schedule to give structure to the students, and keeping our instructional focus on essential standards.
This day we covered the topic of Digital Citizenship. We took a look a the resource, Common Sense Media. We saw how we could direct parents, here as well as use it as a teaching resource. We explored the lesson and curriculum and how they could work with Google Classroom and Seesaw For Schools.

For our Primary Grade teachers, Ben Cogswell (K, Bardin Elementary) did a deep dive on making Seesaw Activities and then utilizing them in the primary grade classroom. You can find all the resources here at coachben.org. This was originally going to be Seesaw Activities 0 to 100, but in the interest of audience management he cut it short at 50. Part 2, 51 to 100 will take place in a later episode.
This day's topics continue from Day 3's topic of maintaining classroom community and ADDED family and home-school connections. The factors of remote instruction that were focuses on where Communicate and Connect. The tools we featured were Google Classroom and Seesaw for Schools.

The topic we were trying to develop was based around the Connect factor of remote learning--Maintaining and Creating Classroom Community featuring Google Meet. We featured an interview with 3 of our teachers, Lora Carey (Monte Bella), Maricar Osorio (MLK), and Celeste Ward (Chavez).
Because of some confusion, we also differentiated between Google Hangouts and Google Meet.
We started with a review and deep look at Screencastify.
We continued our day 1 themes of overview and mindset.
To differentiate for our Primary teachers, Ben Cogswell did a session on Seesaw For Schools in K-2.
Grades 3-6 teachers took a deep dive on Seesaw For Schools with George and Celia.
