We have had a busy few months here at Sugar Loaf. With the calendar soon turning to May, Spring Break now seems like a distant memory and summer break is on the horizon. There are just a few days left in this year before we turn the last page on this school year and another one is waiting. As we move through the final weeks of school, continue to encourage your child to do their best and put forth their best effort. Over the next few weeks, students will complete their end-of-year diagnostics and EOGs. I look forward to seeing how much students have grown since the middle of the year. To help keep students engaged with what is going on, we have implemented our end-of-the-year incentive. Each homeroom has set a point goal they are working to achieve. Students receive points for attendance, behavior, and academic growth. Students are working to put me in a dunking booth during field days. Over the last week, college theater students from Appalachian Young People's Theater came and put on "Winnie the Pooh" for students. Students laughed as they kept up with Pooh as he traveled on different adventures. We had a successful Career Day, with students being introduced to careers in construction, dentistry, nursing, mail carrier, and legal services. Construction progress is coming along nicely, with the brick being complete and the roof being installed.
