Welcome Back!
I hope everyone had a nice break and found time to rest, relax, and recharge for the second semester. As fast as the first semester goes, the second semester picks up speed and is over before we know it. Throughout the month of January, as a school, we will be doing some goal setting for this second semester. During this month, we will have MOY testing for all students. We will use this data to see areas of success, as well as growth opportunities. Students who show the most growth will be treated to a pizza party.
Our attendance dipped during the months of October, November, and December due to sickness. Please continue to have your child here at school on time each day. Students arriving tardy miss valuable instructional time, as well as not being able to get into the routine of the school day.
Students should have remote weather packets in their book bags. These will be used if school is cancelled and a "Remote Weather" day is scheduled. These packets should stay in book bags. Fingers crossed for at least one good snowfall this winter!
Below is a document that is a resource for parents that discusses the Science of Reading training that teachers have been involved in over the past year and a half.
