Summary Statement

This engaging lesson for 4th graders (but can be adapted to grades 3 & 5) blends the Science topic of Animal Adaptations and technology as students design unique animals with adaptations for specific environments. Students will craft prompts to guide Generative AI image generation (artifacts) to visualize their creations. These AI-generated images are essential because they bridge the gap between students' ideas and a visual representation, fostering creativity and supporting their understanding of how adaptations play a crucial role in animal survival. With the underlying subject of machine learning, on aspects of Natural Language Processing and text-to-image generation; students will then present and explain their designs, solidifying their knowledge and communication skills with the use of Adobe Express.
