Program Overview

The UAF Upward Bound program attempts to improve the graduation rates of high school students and increase the number of graduates who continue on to enter post-secondary education, especially Universities and colleges. UAF Upward Bound offers a school year program that works with 10 high schools in Alaska called “target schools”. Our ten target schools include: Bethel, Brevig Mission, Chevak, Kipnuk, Nikiski, Quinhagak, Seward, Shishmaref, St. Mary's, and Wrangell. The program also conducts a six-week academic camp on the UAF campus during the summer.
