Graduate students
- Theodor Fathauer, MS in Atmospheric Sciences, 2005-2012, accepted into the Ph.D. program in 2013, deceased in 2013. Ted Fathauer irecieved his Bachellor of Sciences degree from the University of Chicago. At UAF, he investigated the relation between pollen and weather for his MS degree, while also working as a weather forecaster at the NWS Fairbanks office. He was accepted into the interdisciplinary Ph.D. program of UAF to pursue research on the historical development of meteorological measurements in Alaska under my guidance. He deceased way to early in 2013. 
- Huy N.Q. Tran, Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences, 2009-2012 Huy Ngujan Quang developed an air quality advisory tool that permits interpolation of mobile PM2.5 measurements into unmonitored neighborhoods. 
- Trang Tran, 2009-2012. Trang investigated the impact of changes in ship emissions and wildfire emissions. She changed her major to environmental chemistry. She stems from Vietnam and obtained her MS from AIT. 
- Debasish Pai Mazumder, Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences, 2005-2009. He received his bachelor degree in physics in 2002 from the University of Calcutta, India. He obtained his master degree in atmospheric science in 2004 from the same university. His thesis dealt with on research on the kinetic energy spectra of turbulence in the thermally stratified atmospheric surface layer. He worked at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi as a project associate on mesoscale modeling in 2005. He received his Ph.D. in 2009 from the University of Alaska, Department of Atmospheric Sciences for a thesis entitled A concept to access the performance of a permafrost model run fully coupled with a climate model. After graduation he accepted a post-doc position at University of Quebec at Montreal (UQAM), Canada. In 2012, he joined the NCAR. 
- Stacy E. Porter, MS in atmospheric sciences, 2007-2009. Phi Kappa Pi. Stacy received her B.S. in Atmospheric Sciences in December 2006 at the University of North Carolina in Asheville. She worked as a documentation analyst at the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, NC. She earned a M.S. degree in atmospheric sciences from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Department of Atmospheric Sciences with a thesis entitled Investigation of the impact of ship emissions on atmospheric composition and deposition in remote, coastal landscapes of southwest Alaska. She now is pursuing her Ph.D. at the University of Ohio. 
- Morgan E. Brown, now Morgan B. Yarker, M.S., 2006-2008. She recieved her M.S. in atmospheric sciences for a thesis entitled Impact of local external forcing of the 2006 Augustine Volcano eruption on regional weather conditions. Now at University of Iowa for a Ph.D. in science education 
- Zhao Li, PhD in atmospheric sciences, 2002-2007. Zhao received her Ph.D. from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Department of Atmospheric Sciences, for a thesis entitled Investigations on the impacts of land-cover changes and/or increased CO2concentrations on four regional water cycles and their interactions with the global water cycle. She did a post-doc at University Maryland/NASA before taking a position at SAIC. 
- Balachandru Narapusetty, MS in 2005, Evaluation of the soil model of the Hydro-Thermodynamics Soil Vegetation Scheme (HTSVS) by observations and a Galerkin weak finite element scheme, now PhD graduate student at COLA. 
- Mihailo Jankov, M.S. in atmospheric sciences, 2002-2005. Uncertainty analysis on the plant physiological and soil physical parameters used in land surface models. PhD in physics, University of Oslo, Norway, 2010.
