We welcome enthusiastic high school, undergraduate and graduate students, and postdoctoral research associates to join our lab.  We provide a supportive, inclusive environment that fosters creative, critical thinking and values all perspectives.  Please don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested in joining us or if would just like more information about working in a lab, applying to graduate school, or careers in biology.  Undergraduate students may earn course credit or get paid for their work.  In addition to funding from my own research grants to support undergraduate research, there are several programs at UAF that support undergraduates conducting research during the academic year and summer, including the Alaska IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (AK-INBRE), the Biomedical Learning and Student Training (BLaST) program, and the Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Activity (URSA) program.
