UAF’s Office of Technology will assist you in setting up your IARC email account.
IARC has an internal, UA-only Google Drive folder containing links to downloadable forms (e.g., travel, purchasing, emergency protocol, letterhead, presentation templates, etc.). Login credentials are required to access this site. You must be logged in to Google Drive with your UA username and password to access this folder.
The Polar Express card is your university ID card and proxy card. This will also serve as a library card and debit card at the university cafeterias and vending machines. The IARC/Geophysical Institute Operations Manager can help you obtain the correct proxy card for your specific access needs.
New faculty should provide a digital portrait photo to the IARC director’s office to use on your IARC profile in the online directory. When you submit your photo, please also provide your work phone number, room number, and your title.
Use one of IARC branded templates to make personalized business cards. Check out IARC’s communications guide to learn more.
To make a work-related purchase you will need to fill out a Purchase Requisition form ahead of time, and turn it in the Purchasing Officer. Visit the IARC Purchasing webpage for more information on:
The purchasing process
Credit card purchases less than $5,000
Procurement purchases over $5,000
Subwards
Service contracts
Speciality purchases
Funding opportunities for travel include the EPSCoR office (travel must be related to the EPSCoR mission). As new faculty seek to secure their own funding through research proposals, they should be mindful of budgeting for appropriate travel related to the proposed project.
UA Travel Support staff can help you with your travel needs. They can:
complete and submit your Travel Request
book airfare, lodging, and other travel related items
complete and submit your Expense Report
