Progress continues to be made in a system wide undertaking to upgrade and streamline functions in UAOnline. UA rolled out the initial upgrades to UAOnline in June 2024, and will continue to work through additional changes through November 2025. The version that UA is currently using will no longer be supported after November 2025.

This website will be updated as additional upgrades are made in UAOnline

There are four major areas for this transition:
UAOnline: General updates to UAOnline
Student: Changes to student registration, financial aid and faculty tools in UAOnline
Finance: Changes to financial functions in UAOnline
Employee: Changes to employee and human resources functions in UAOnline
The chart above shows the sub-projects in each area and whether they have been started, are in queue, are still being evaluated, are not being implemented at this time, or have been completed.
When is this happening? The first changes, the employee dashboard and updates to the general landing pages, will be rolling out summer 2024. During the transition period there will be some services managed through the upgraded interface, while others will still be managed through the current interface.
The look and feel of the initial UAOnline login page will be improved and allow better use with mobile devices. Navigation from the landing page will be easier and more intuitive.

As each implementation deadline approaches, we will communicate with affected users in coordination with University leadership, detailing what will be changing and when the changes will occur.
The current version of UAOnline will no longer be supported after November 2025. The new version has improved functionality, is mobile-friendly, and has a more modern, intuitive, and accessible interface than what is used today.
The desired results of this project include:
Modernize the look and feel of the user interface and allow access through mobile devices.
Implement intuitive navigation for the end user.
Assess and revise current processes that are delivered through the self-service system to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Implement new functionality of the self-service system to allow more services to be provided.
The first changes were implemented summer 2024: the employee dashboard and updates to the general landing pages. Since time end users have seen a marked difference in the login experience. Changes to Finance, Employee and Student functions will be phased in over the coming two years with a completion date projected for Fall 2025.
Students and employees expect a more modern interface, compatible with mobile devices, when conducting business with the university. The upgraded platform’s more modern and streamlined look will be easier to read and to navigate to the information that the users want. The platform is mobile friendly and more accessible.
This initiative will help give students a more modern interface that can be used with mobile devices and provide a platform for all the technological tools that students use to navigate their university experience. It is one way to modernize the student experience and is a part of the SIS Modernization program.
As the transition to the new look progresses, training sessions, guides and materials will be developed and posted on the UAOnline Upgrade website. Announcements will be made to drive users to the materials when they are available.

Banner Self Service is the platform that runs UAOnline. The current interface is running on Banner 8. Over the next two years we will be transitioning to the latest version, Banner Self Service 9.
