Each year, District Board members are elected during the weekend of District Convention in order to keep up with the changes and needs of the Alabama District. Candidates may also run for International Endorsement for International President, Vice President, Trustee, or General Endorsement. Below are the descriptions, contracts, and other documents that are needed for the voting delegates, the district board positions, and International Endorsement.
Anybody who is acting as a delegate for their club should fill out the Delegate Certification Form. Additionally, all who are certified should know and understand the rules below.
The Governor is the leading executive of the entire Alabama District. They oversee the work of the district board while also representing the state at the International level. They are required to attend and/or preside over various events throughout their term, including District Board Meetings, Governors' and Administrators' Training Conference (GATC), Alabama Leadership Academy, and District Convention.
District Secretary-Treasurers are responsible for keeping close record of both district correspondence and monetary transactions. Things that fall under this officer's tasks include:
Recording Board and Council meeting minutes
Keeping minutes of the House of Delegates
Budgeting District money

Ensuring that all clubs within the District have paid dues
Otherwise titled the District Editor, the Communications Officer is well-versed in content creation and developing a social media presence. They should also be capable of writing and distributing the District Newsletter, The Bama Blast, and editing the district website. As needed, the Communications Officer will design and post graphics promoting the functions across the Alabama district.
The Lieutenant Governor (LTG) of a division acts as the liaison between the District Board officers and the clubs that they represent. They are required to report their activities to the District Governor every month. They preside over Presidents' Council meetings within their divisions and visit and/or help their clubs as needed. There are four divisions and, therefore, four positions for LTG that need to be occupied: Champion, Capital, Valley, and Gulf.
Endorsements may be given to candidates wishing to run for international office. An endorsement means that the Alabama District provides approval and support for the candidate.
Preparing and submitting literature, though optional, is a great way to formulate your ideas and your platform prior to DCON. All nominees should prepare a one- to three-minute introductory speech for Friday evening. In addition, candidates should prepare a five- to seven-minute speech for Caucusing.
