We are committed to delivering an approach to online learning that includes:

  1. A structured timetable to provide certainty each day

  • Early Childhood school students differ from older students in many ways, including their ability to work independently, use a device for learning, and attention spans. We have planned for online learning prioritizing developmentally appropriate practices. Therefore, following a "normal" school day timetable is not something we will expect of our younger learners.

  • Work plans will be provided on the Sunday for the week. With in that there will be activities and educational material for each day. This will enable students to work at their own pace, taking breaks from work and screens as needed, and completing work in the time required by the individual student.

  • Specialist and Arabic lessons, as well as counseling lessons, are also included in your child's daily plan, and those teachers will also be available for immediate feedback and support 1 hour a day.

  1. Continuity of curriculum with ongoing and active support from teachers

    • Teachers will be available for parents via class dojo, teachers will have office hours from 9:00 am-11:00 am to 12:00pm-2:00pm or on an as needed basis.

    • For other communication, email can always be used as well.

    • Some teachers have other ways of communicating, if there are other ways other than dojo or email, your child's teacher will let you know.

    • At the bottom of this page are contact emails for questions or comments you may have.

  1. An appropriate amount of student work and authentic assessment

    • Online learning looks different in Early Childhood then it does for the higher grades. There must be a balance between screen time and other forms of activities. Monitor what your children are doing and follow the guidelines given to you from your child's classroom teacher.

    • Some of the activities online will have built in questions at the end of the lesson that help students with comprehension of the material that is being presented in a given lesson.

FAQ's:

Is attendance compulsory?

Attendance will not be physically taken during online learning. However, like in a traditional classroom, the time spent online with teacher and peers facilitates and furthers learning. Work should be submitted by the given due date. Loss of learning due to lack of participation can be a key factor in summer school and retention requirements.

What happens if my internet
isn't working?

Families should maintain open and constant communication with teachers. This should be completed through e-mail and Class Dojo.

Can I pick up stuff from my cubby or teacher?

Parents wanting to pick up personal belongings or packets from teachers need to fill out a form at Gate 1 and follow the protocol for temperature check at the gate. Students are not permitted on campus.
