There is a new meningococcal vaccine called the MCVB.  It is recommended for those 16 years of age to 24 years.  This vaccine does not take the place of the MCV4, and the shots can be given at the same time.  The vaccine is not mandatory, but students are encouraged to get the series before starting college.
