PS4201 - 2 credits (double blocked)
In this second year course, students will participate as unpaid interns at elementary or junior highs under the supervision of their CTC teacher and mentor teacher at the field site. They will expand their knowledge of effective teaching practices and will take on more responsibility in the classroom as they learn to evaluate and analyze the effectiveness of lesson plans and instructional strategies. Students who wish to take this course must have their own transportation in order to be able to travel to their practicum site(s) or be willing to walk to a nearby training site campus. Uniform purchase is required. Upon successful completion of specific criteria in this course, students will be given the opportunity to earn a “Letter of Intent” from the Arlington ISD which provides the opportunity for future employment with the district.
