The authors propose a roadmap for Canada to work with a coalition of public and private actors around the world to champion an alternative option to AI developed by the US and China, “Public AI.”
AI Governance and Safety White Paper, by Wyatt Tessari l’Allié [link forthcoming at the end of October]
This is the latest draft of the updated White Paper that will set out AIGS's proposed actions for the Canadian government.
Framework Convention on Global AI Challenges, June 2024, CIGI [Update forthcoming early November]
The authors explore three emerging global-scale challenges posed by advanced AI that could require international cooperation. These relate to realizing the global benefits of AI, mitigating the global risks and making legitimate choices about future implications of AI for humanity. It concludes with preliminary recommendations intended to support further dialogue, reflection and action.
Canada's AI Strategy Task Force, September 2025, ISED
The AI Strategy Task Force has a mission-focused, time-limited mandate to provide recommendations in eight areas of expertise to inform the development of the new strategy. The public can provide input until October 31, 2025.
