What is Consideration?
Consideration is the phase where the potential EP moves from initial interest to becoming officially approved for the exchange. It starts with first contact and a meeting to understand their goals and needs.
During this phase, the OGX team helps the EP find the best opportunity, supports them with their CV and application, and guides them through the selection process. It ends when the EP signs the agreement, completes payment, and is approved for the exchange.
What happens during Consideration?
Consideration can be divided into four main phases:
Sales – Introducing AIESEC and the exchange opportunities to the potential EP, answering their questions, and motivating them to join.
Matching – Finding the ideal opportunity that fits the EP’s interests, skills, and goals.
Applying & Selection – Assisting the EP with their application, supporting CV preparation, and guiding them through the selection and interview process with the host.
Approving – Finalizing the process by signing agreements, completing payments, and confirming the EP’s status as approved for the exchange.

Application Process?
After finding the perfect opportunity with the EP Manager, the EP should:
✅ Check if they meet all the opportunity requirements
📝 Edit and update their profile on aiesec.org
📄 Prepare and tailor their CV for the opportunity
🌐 Apply together with the EP on aiesec.org
📢 Inform the ICX about the application
Selection Process?
🔍 What does it look like?
The Selection Process typically consists of the following stages:
The EP updates their profile on aiesec.org and uploads their CV and motivational letter.
The EP is contacted by the ICX team.
The EP attends an AIESEC interview.
The EP may be asked to provide additional materials, such as filling out a Google Form or submitting an introduction video (optional).
The EP attends a company interview (only for Global Talent opportunities).
⏳ How long does it take?
After this, the ICX team will contact the EP to inform them whether they have been accepted. The duration of the selection process — from applying to receiving an acceptance decision — varies depending on the country and the specific opportunity. You can check the estimated process time for each opportunity directly on aiesec.org, usually listed under the “Process Time” section. For Global Volunteer (GV) opportunities, the process is generally faster and should not take more than 7 days. For Global Talent (GTa) opportunities, the process takes longer and can sometimes take up to 1–2 months.
🔄 What happens after?
✅ If the EP is accepted: EP’s status on EXPA will also be updated to “Accepted by Host”; proceed to the “Approving Process” section to follow the next steps.
❌ If the EP is rejected: explain that this is a common part of the process and happens to many people. Reassure them that everyone eventually finds the right opportunity, encourage them not to give up, and help redirect them to other suitable opportunities. You can also reach out to the IR team to check if they have any other opportunities that might be a good fit for the EP.
🤝 How to support EPs during the selection process?
Explain at the beginning that this is just one opportunity among many — not getting accepted is not the end of the road.
Help tailor their CV to each opportunity.
Make sure they meet all opportunity requirements from website.
Send their CV to ICX for feedback before applying.
If they are not a fit, work together with ICX and IR to redirect them to other suitable opportunities.
Assist with interview preparation — you can ask LCVPs or iGT for commonly used AIESEC interview questions or guide them to practice interview simulations with AI tools (for example, ChatGPT).
Stay in touch with ICX for updates.
Support them in improving their CV, searching for and applying to other opportunities.
Approving Process?
After the EP gets accepted, there are a few steps that need to happen before they are officially approved:
The EP signs the Acceptance Note (accepted by the host, status changes to accepted)
The EP signs the contract (ASZF)
The EP pays the fee
Once all of these steps are completed and verified by the OGX team, the EP is marked as approved by the home side (OGX) and approved by the host side (ICX).
