Junior Drafter

JOB PURPOSE

Serve as Offshore/Onshore Pipeline Drafter on assigned project or project areas. Responsible work related to Detailed Engineering Design, Front End Engineering Design or Basic Engineering Design. Assist Pipeline Lead Designer to achieve work quality and schedule on all pipeline drawing deliverables. Work and interface with other disciplines as required for successful technical and economic completion of projects. To produce Pipeline Engineering drawing deliverables from project’s technical information under the supervision of the Lead Designer.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Technical

1. To provide first class engineering in one or more of the following fields; Riser, subsea pipelines, landfalls, subsea manifolds, piping design, onshore pipeline.

2. To prepare drawings deliverables to the required technical quality with guidance from engineering personnel.

3. To ensure all drawings and documents are complete within the allocated hours as directed by the Lead Designer.

4. Generate complete project design documentation covering all aspects of the pipeline drawings. (eg. Pipeline route drawings including information on seabed, properties and topology, existing and future platforms, pipelines/cables, subsea well heads, ship lanes, etc.; detailed pipeline crosiing drawings; platform layout drawings with riser, riser protection systems, loading zones, boat landing areas, rescue areas, etc and as applicable; spool fabrication drawing; pipeline protection drawings; and riser and riser clamp fabrication drawings.)

5. Maintained knowledge of all applicable codes and standards including client’s requirements.

6.  Keeping up with latest industry practice and news and participating in external conferences and workshops as necessary.

7. Interact – interact with other disciplines to ensure a smooth and successful functioning of the project.

8. Quality - ensuring the work is performed in accordance with the company quality procedures and practices.

9. Client Interfacing – to liaise with clients, when required

REQUIREMENTS

Qualification

Diploma /Certificate in relevant Drafting Discipline from a recognized institution.

Required Experienced / Knowledge

1. Demonstrable ability to deliver efficient analytical solutions to engineering design tasks.

2. Specific knowledge of subsea pipelines and equipment.

3. Supervisory experience of engineering personnel advantageous.

Computer / Other Skills

1. Good knowledge of AutoCAD Computer Software

2. Computer literate (database / spreadsheet)

1. Must be confident with good written and oral communication skills.

2. Must have ability to work effectively under pressure.

3.  Conversant with company client drafting standards and specifications

4. Able to contribute to group / discipline objectives applicable to drafting function

5. Able to identify improvement opportunities and techniques relevant to drafting personnel.
