Hi guys! My name is Christina Heuer. I was born, raised, and currently reside in Portland Oregon USA. Art has always been in my life, as a hobby and in school. I received a BA in art practices from Portland State University in 2012. During and post college I worked as a preschool teacher for where I was lucky enough to spend lots of my time teaching children art and engaging them in creative activities. Since then (between other teaching jobs, nanny jobs, and even a position in family law ) I have been drawing, painting, or inking pet portraits for folks in the community. I recently took up digital illustration and am happy to be challenging my skills while working on Shexie Meiren. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to create the cover art for such a badass independent female lead character like Shexie. It will be exciting to see her develop more through the series and am curious to see how the creators work together to bring this unique story to life. Also, being able to work across oceans is a pretty great experience!

Aside from illustration, and painting, Christina has taken on a variety of artistic endeavors over the last decade, not limited to large scale murals, chalk art, and installation art. Her favorite subject matter is the human and animal form, playing with color, line and mark making.
